A large military organisation had overseas responsibility for national security interests in a volatile region.  Traditionally, it had operated as a war-fighting command.  Our founder applied a strategic lens to reprioritise organisational and cultural perspectives and promote the command’s extensive foreign military aid programme as a powerful strategic tool.  The outcome was a broad-based approach that better leveraged the influence of foreign military aid, combined pan-regional and cross-governmental coordination to optimise the aggregated capability it delivered, aligned government actors more closely in common cause, and improved inter-agency cooperation

Business Management & Organisational Design

A data-reliant central government department was hampered by an ageing digital estate, myriad incompatible platforms and data pools of varying quality.  Analysis was difficult and partial, operational efficiency was impaired and public-facing services were frustratingly fragmented.  Our founder initiated and led the collaborative development of a business-focused data strategy and delivery roadmap.  He brokered the structural, technical, process and behavioural priorities needed to realise the department’s goals, and he coordinated their implementation, challenging the inertia inherent in any large organisation or settled culture.  The outcome was stronger and more pervasive leadership, better defined roles and responsibilities, more effective enterprise-level governance, and revised guidance and training.  At a technical level, new data and process management standards were mandated, and a coherent suite of properly integrated data-management tools was included in the department’s technology roadmap.  Analysis, efficiency and service delivery are already improved, with many more benefits to come
